On September 29, 2022, the official launch of the CariPorts project took place at the Creole Beach Hotel in Guadeloupe. Ms. Milaika CAPELLA, Director of the Caribbean Shipping Association (CSA), attended the event. This gathering served as a time to strengthen the ties between the CSA and GPMG, and more importantly, to rally all stakeholders and members of the port community around the project and the environmental issues faced by Caribbean territories. The CSA reaffirmed its strong commitment to the Port of Guadeloupe and its dedication to addressing these major environmental concerns.
The launch was a moment for meeting and exchanging ideas among the actors in the Guadeloupean port community. The project was presented phase by phase, and attendees had the opportunity to clarify any questions they had. The evening also saw the signing of the partnership agreement, committing the Caribbean Shipping Association and the Grand Port Maritime de la Guadeloupe to collaborate on the project.
