In June 2023, the CariPorts team conducted the first voluntary port visit in the Dominican Republic. They visited one of the three major ports in the capital: the Rio Haina port.
The purpose of the visit was to better understand the port, both in terms of its environment and activities.
The Ports of Guadeloupe and Haina each presented themselves and shared their specificities. A questionnaire prepared by the CariPorts team was filled out together. Its aim was to identify the differences and similarities of each port in terms of environmental, technical, and infrastructural aspects.
These data are intended to determine the challenges and issues related to climate change faced by the port.
The members of CariPorts thank the entire team of the Rio Haina port for their involvement in the project and during this meeting.
