In June 2023, the CariPorts team conducted its inaugural visit to a partner port. The destination was the Dominican Republic, specifically one of the three largest ports in the capital: Rio Haina Port.

The team was warmly received by the environmental department’s staff, and the visit included a tour of the terminal and port infrastructures, along with a commercial presentation of the port. The CariPorts team presented the Port of Guadeloupe, the project, and its vision before initiating discussions. The dialogue helped identify commonalities and differences between the two ports and their respective visions. The gathered data will contribute to the development of roadmaps and a port development model tailored to both ports.
